Everyone has at least one story that sounds completely made up until they start explaining it. This is for the people with deep character lore, oddly specific backstories, and enough random life events to keep every conversation interesting.

  • I used to think everyone had a clean, linear life story. Then the internet introduced me to the concept of lore. Now I can't hear someone casually say, "Oh yeah, I don't like elevators," without immediately wondering what kind of side quest led them to that conclusion. Nobody just doesn't like elevators. There's always lore. Maybe they got stuck in one for four hours. Maybe they met a celebrity in one when they were eight. Maybe they simply refuse to elaborate. Either way, I need the backstory.   • Personally, I love collecting little bits of other people's lore. It makes life feel much more entertaining. Everyone is walking around carrying years of stories that somehow never come up until the most random moment imaginable. So if someone tells you, "You can steal my swag, but not my lore," just know they're protecting the most valuable thing they own. Their character development.
